I just fell in love with a health food store! What do you buy when you go to a health food store?

What are your regular/favorite items to get at your local health food store?

I just went for the first time a couple of days ago and I want to go again! Yes, it's expensive, but OMG I feel better when I eat healthy! It makes a world of difference!

The one I like going to has a peanut butter making machine....you buy the nuts..and then put it in the machine and make peanut butter...thats what I do :D

Besides that, I just get all my other healthy stuff from my local grocery store....they've got a large organic section.

It does feel awesome when you look at the ingrediants in a bag of frozen french fries and see "Ingredients: potatoes, salt." ....instead of like 1000000 things. I feel much healthier too when I eat stuff like that :)

(even if salt is bad for you..but..eh, you get my point)

our local health food store so far only has process elements in it.. which aren't very healthy...

in all my years i could never understand why they call them 'health' food stores.

if i want health foods, i go to the local grocer's produce section and get fresh fruits and veggies.

vitamin water

fruits

veggies

anything its all yummy

What are my best options for packaging foods to sell to health food stores?

I am starting my own business selling prepared foods to health food stores. A number of the things that I want to sell are going to need to be packaged in sealed plastic bags (e.g. flax crackers, etc.). In order to do this, do I need to buy my own sealer as well as the bags? Can I just buy bags with that are already resealable? Can anyone suggest a good source to buy these products from?

Doubt very much if your going to be able to sell to a store. There is laws on how the food has to be and also how it is to be packaged and the kind of label it must have on it. Most stores have orders sent to them from a factory

What is your favorite natural health food store in the mid-michigan area?

I am looking for a store(s) that is medium sized, has good selection and prices are competitive to other health food stores. Foods for Living and Better Health stores are two I am familiar with already. W.F.M. is large although I am not sure about visiting after reading some articles concerning store policies and management. Thanks for the suggestions and comments.

I think you can find these healthy foods in every supermarket~~

Did you try Whole Foods? it's my favorite food market! it has everything. Well I love to eat Kashi for breakfast! But there isn't really a brand of Organic food I like, I just try things. The reason why I told you about whole foods is because it cost the same as Giant Eagle or Kroger or the "leading grocery stores" except Whole Foods is Organic.

You should check out

Check out the bulk aisle at your grocery store, and the health food aisle if they have one.

Cold Cereal/Granola: Nature's Path. They make the best-quality and best-tasting organic cereals and granolas.

Milk: Ecomeal Organic Grass-Fed Milk. Very healthy because it is NOT ultra-pasteurized like most organic milks and plus the cow's are pasture-fed.

Hot cereals, raw wheat germ, flaxseed meal, and whole-grain flour: Bob's Red Mill

Peanut butter: Peanut Butter & Co, Smooth Operator. Best-tasting all-natural peanut butter!

I don't know if you can find these at your regular supermarket, You would have to go to a Whole Foods, a Trader Joe's or a health food store. These places carry the best quality all-natural and organic products in the market. Supermarket chains usually have their own organic products, but the quality is not so great.
